How many tasks do you currently have on your task list?
*
I can’t really go to a single place to find all my to-do items. I keep almost everything in my head. I occasionally write something down, but then I forget where I put it! I probably need a system.
I have more than a hundred unfinished tasks on various lists. Some are on my computer; some are in various journals and planners. I try to keep the important items in my head.
I have a trusted repository for capturing all my tasks. When I think of something that needs to be done, it goes into that system. I have less than fifty unfinished items there.

How would you describe your current productivity system?
*
System? What system?
My system, if you can call it that, is a mess. It’s way more complex than is probably necessary. As a result, I have a hard time sticking with it for very long.
I have a reliable system for managing my tasks and appointments. I am consistent in using it. It is the foundation for how I do my work.
I have a simple, elegant system that keeps every area of my life organized. The funny thing is, I rarely think about it. It just works.

How do you feel about using technology in order to increase your productivity?
*
I’m not very comfortable with technology. It seems like it’s more trouble than it’s worth.
I feel that if I could just find the right technological solution, I could solve all my productivity problems. As a result, I spend a lot of time experimenting with new systems. I just have a hard time sticking with anything.
I feel comfortable with technology. However, I am not afraid to use an analog system when it makes sense. I do my homework and then find the best solution for what I am doing. I usually stick with my technology for years.
I can take technology or leave it. It’s simply a means to an end. If it will make me more productive, so I can experience more freedom, I’m happy to use it. I am not into technology for technology’s sake.

When it comes to succeeding at work and in life, what’s your single greatest challenge?
*
I don’t have enough "free space" in my life. Work bleeds into nearly every aspect of my life, and I can’t disconnect. I try as hard as I can, but I simply can’t succeed both at work and at home.
I’m constantly distracted. I’m drowning in a sea of distractions. I simply cannot focus on the important tasks due to constant interruptions from coworkers, technology, email, multitasking, etc.
Because of my current circumstances, I have no consistency. A busy season, a transition, or a life event has derailed my ability to focus or keep a steady routine.
I don’t have any help. It’s all on me, and I’m not enough to do it all. I am responsible for everything. Delegation is impossible. I can’t trust anyone else with my tasks, or there is no one else.
